Born into a U.S. Navy family in Portsmouth, Virginia, William Russ spent most of his childhood moving around the country until eventually settling down long enough to study drama at the University of Michigan.  After graduation, he furthered his drama studies when he attended New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse.  Russ appeared on Broadway with Al Pacino in “The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel.”  Other New York stage appearances include “Buried Child” and “Visions of Kerouac.” 



William Russ is best known for his various regular series television roles in “Wiseguy,” “Capital News,” the daytime drama “Another World,” the family series “Boy Meets World,” “Mister Sterling” and, most recently, CBS’s “The Ex-List.” He has appeared in numerous television movies, most notably the mini-series “Long Hot Summer.”  His many notable guest-star appearances include “The Mentalist,” “Boston Legal,” “St. Elsewhere,” “The Young Riders,” “Touched by an Angel,” “Ally McBeal,” “Crossing Jordan” and “Miami Vice.”

On the big screen, Russ starred alongside Edward Norton in the controversial drama “American History X.”  He has also appeared in numerous feature films including “Life as a House,” “Aspen Extreme,” and “The Right Stuff” . Russ also starred in the award winning “Pastime” for which he was also nominated for best actor at the Independent Spirit awards. 

On "Home At Last", Russ plays the role of "Bob," a homeless man. The series tells the story of Russ' character as he moves in with "Mike," the son he abandoned at birth. Although Mike has a big heart, it's not always easy to welcome your dead beat dad, especially when your roommate hates him.
